How to Apply
Apply now for the 2011-2012 class: Discover Frederick County. Discover your potential. Download the application (PDF). You can also pick up an official application packet at the Chamber office (8420-B Gas House Pike, Frederick, MD 21701). Applicant interviews begin June 17, and will continue until the class is filled. Space is VERY limited. We encourage you to apply as early as possible!
Tuition is to be paid by you, the participant's employer, sponsor, or any combination thereof. Tuition covers expenses for the overnight orientation retreat, eight all-day sessions, and the graduation dinner. Payment is due following the selection process; a specific due date will be included in the acceptance letter. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Applications for scholarships are included in the program application packet.
Anyone who lives or works in Frederick County may apply. Leadership Frederick County targets individuals who have leadership experience in community roles, who possess various career, educational, political, and cultural backgrounds, and who have a desire to explore local issues and leadership strategies in preparation for future civic involvement.
While participants have varied backgrounds, all share three basic characteristics:

A demonstrated personal commitment to community service and to addressing community problems

A record of achievement in professional and community involvement, indicating past and potential leadership ability

The ability to set and achieve personal goals
In addition to a completed application form, all applicants go through an application interview. All applicants will be notified of their status over the summer, and a public announcement will be made in September.
