Join us on Wednesday, May 29 as we recognize graduates of LFC's 25th class and the winner of the 3rd Annual Kitty Reed Outstanding Leadership Award (PDF).

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour that includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The formal graduation ceremony features keynote speaker Bill Graham, and a celebration, dinner and music round out this special night.

Chamber members and LFC Alumni are encouraged to attend. $35 per person for graduates who are members of the LFC Alumni Association; $40 for guests and graduates who have not yet joined the alumni association. Small Business Workshop Series: Record Keeping
Especially for new, existing, and prospective business owners!

The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce is offering a continuing series of small business workshops on financial management that is designed to help business owners understand their financial choices so they can take steps to control their money instead of letting their money – or lack of it – control them. Today’s business owners need to provide financial and insurance solutions for not only themselves, but for their employees and business as well, these workshops will show you the products and services that are out there to help business owners meet their specific needs.

The Record Keeping for a Small Business presentation provides an overview of record keeping and is designed to help participants to understand how record keeping can benefit their business.

After completing this training, you will be able to:

Explain the concept of record keeping and why record keeping is important to a small business.
Identify record keeping practices, rules, and tools which are commonly available to a small business.
Explain how these record keeping practices, rules, and tools work.
Identify benefits a small business derives from proper record keeping.
Explain record keeping basics for a small business.
Identify software products available for small business record keeping.

Session Presenter:

Mary Barry possesses more than 25 years of local community banking experience after starting her career as a teller. She enrolled in business management courses at Frederick Community College prior to continuing her career field education through the American Institute of Banking, and earned a diploma through the The University of Maryland's Maryland Banking School program. Mary is currently Vice President Business Development Officer for Frederick County Bank, and a key facilitator within Frederick County Bank’s internal Sales Training program.

This popular event got even better! Not only is the Business Card Exchange a great time for social and business networking with fellow Chamber members, but now, along with other door prizes, we have a 50/50 drawing! Members be sure to pre-register to be eligible to win the Chamber's Cash Prize Drawing!* One name will be drawn from the pre-registered attendees near the end of the event. If person whose name is drawn is not present, the 50/50 pot rolls over to the next card exchange!

2nd Annual Not Your Mama's Crab Feast
Join in for an evening of food, fun, and networking on Saturday, June 22 at Cereseville Mansion Pavilion by the River.

Registration includes food and soft drinks, yard games, door prizes, and live entertainment. Plus, all the hard shell crabs, fried chicken, and BBQ you can eat, with all the traditional picnic trimmings. Adult beverages will be available for purchase.

The day's line up includes the nationally recognized Jenny Leigh Band with a sound infusion of modern country, funk & soul. She’s opened for national country acts like The Eli Young Band and Josh Gracin, and has shared the stage with Hootie & the Blowfish. In fact, her latest EP album, Falling Forward, includes the track "Break Free", co-written with Mark Bryan of Hootie in the Blowfish.
