❗️ The Maryland Department of Labor Port of Baltimore Worker Retention Program’s last day for businesses to file an application for assistance is tomorrow, May 17, at 11:59 p.m. The program can provide up to $200,000 in grant funding to pay for employee wages to keep workers on the job and avert layoffs. Eligible applicants are Maryland-based businesses that employ up to 500 workers, labor unions, trade associations, or other organizations whose business activities are hindered or halted entirely due to reduced Port operations. Last week, President & CEO Mary Kane joined Governor Moore, Senate President Ferguson, House Speaker Jones and other legislative leaders for the signing of the Critical Infrastructure Streamlining Act and Transparent Government Act.
