Yesterday, United Way of Frederick County was overjoyed to receive a heartfelt donation from our friends at Quantum Loophole: Frederick County, MD. Their support will directly impact local ALICE families, providing crucial services like budget coaching, credit counseling, and matched savings for homes or vehicles through our Pathways to Financial Stability program. We are thankful for their continued support! Meet a few of the faces behind the generosity: Rick Keiner (CFO) and Justin Matney (Director of Resource Integration) from Quantum Loophole! If you attended a Chromebook distribution last fall, you may recognize Justin who exemplified Quantum Loophole’s commitment to community by volunteering alongside QL’s Director of Marketing Taylor McCarthy.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to break stigma, foster understanding, and promote support for mental health issues. Let's prioritize self-care, check in on loved ones, and advocate for accessible mental health resources. Together, we can create a world where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. During Mental Health Awareness Month, let's shine a spotlight on organizations like the Mental Health Association of Frederick County and services like 211 Maryland, providing invaluable support and resources to those in need. Whether it's counseling, crisis intervention, or simply a listening ear, these organizations are lifelines for many. Let's ensure everyone knows where to turn for help. Green represents mental health awareness, embodying hope, resilience, and balance. By incorporating green into everyday life, you can encourage relaxation, restoration, and a reduction in stress and anxiety. Join MHA in going green for the month of May!

We would like to congratulate and celebrate Woodsboro Bank on 125 years of serving Frederick County! They are not only committed to providing accessible, local banking solutions to all individuals, families, and businesses across the region, but also to the wellbeing of the ALICE community in Frederick County. Woodsboro Bank has been a strong supporter of United Way of Frederick County for many years. Each fall, they host a workplace giving campaign to engage their employees in their mission of giving back to the community. They are also active partners in our Pathway to Transportation, working with clients to create savings accounts as they work towards the purchase of a new vehicle. Along with routinely sending representatives to celebrate the graduates at the car presentations. Notably, Austin Pearre, Vice President & Commercial Banker, has served on the UWFC board for many years! CONGRATULATIONS on this huge accomploshment Woodsboro Bank! 🎉

Last year, with the generous support of Frederick County businesses and citizens we collected thousands of items from over 120 collection sites that helped over 3,000 students begin the school year with the necessary supplies. Our commitment to providing school supplies to students in Frederick County continues. Students in our community need the tools and support to learn now more than ever. This year's school supply drive will take place from June 17 - July 29. On Monday, July 29th, 2024, several big yellow school buses will stop at participating local businesses in the community so their employees may Stuff the Bus with much needed new supplies for FCPS students. If your business would like to host a collection, please complete the interest form and a staff member from United Way will reach out to you. For more information on Stuff the Bus or to fill out the interest form to host a collection site please visit our website at 👇 https://lnkd.in/eV7nhpjd
